(Ottawa, ON) September 13, 2021 – La Fondation autochtone de l’espoir (FAE) est reconnaissante du don généreux de la Fondation Norwex pour un avenir meilleur, qui soutient notre travail d'éducation des Canadiens et de Réconciliation. Leur généreux don de 10 000 $ est un soutien opportun pour promouvoir une plus grande sensibilisation et éducation sur les pensionnats indiens et leurs impacts.

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 20 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.

La FAE dispose de 25 expositions qui peuvent être prêtées gratuitement. L’une de ces expositions, Fuir les pensionnats indiens : fuir pour sauver nos vies, est désormais disponible sous forme de vidéo virtuelle animée et comprend également les témoignages oraux des Survivants et Survivantes. L'exposition examine l'expérience des Survivants et Survivantes du Régime des pensionnats indiens et sensibilise aux conséquences de ce système sur nos communautés. La FAE travaille à la mise en ligne de ses autres expositions.La Fondation possède également des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle à la 12e année et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activités visant à sensibiliser les Canadiens à l'histoire autochtone et à l'histoire commune des pensionnats indiens, de la Rafle des années 60, des femmes et des filles autochtones disparues ou assassinées et des écoles de jour. La FAE travaille à développer l'empathie et la compréhension afin d'éliminer le racisme et de favoriser la Réconciliation au Canada.
