La Fondation autochtone de l’espoir remercie Blackbaud

(Ottawa, ON) 14 octobre 2021– The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) would like to acknowledge the generous donation from Blackbaud of $5,000 and thank them for supporting Reconciliation. The LHF will utilize this generous donation to help pay for the development and curation of educational resources and materials, which will educate Canadians across Canada.

Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel, stated upon learning about the efforts and donation, “We are really grateful for the hard work of Blackbaud and their generous support towards our organisation and its mission to walk towards Reconciliation.”

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equality, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.

La Fondation a plus de 25 expositions éducatives qui favorisent la sensibilisation à l'histoire autochtone et qui peuvent être empruntées gratuitement, et travaille à la mise en ligne de ses expositions. La FAE possède également des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle à la 12e année et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activités, des ateliers, des formations et des podcasts, tous visant à sensibiliser les Canadiens à l’histoire autochtone et à l’histoire commune des pensionnats indiens et des écoles de jour, de la Rafle des années 60, etc. La FAE travaille à développer l'empathie et la compréhension afin d'éliminer le racisme et de favoriser la Réconciliation au Canada.
