The Legacy of Hope Foundation Acknowledges Ontario Power Generation

Ottawa, ON) April 28, 2023 – The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful for the support and generosity of spirit demonstrated by Ontario Power Generation’s employees. Thanks to this donation, the LHF will continue to produce educational materials and exhibitions that promote Reconciliation, action, hope and healing.

This donation represents a portion of the proceeds from fundraising events held in 2022. These events are led by employee volunteers at Ontario Power Generation and support a variety of charities in their host communities and beyond.

“I am so thankful to Ontario Power Generation’s employees and volunteers for taking many positive actions by raising awareness and funds to support Reconciliation and for their generous donation. As an Indigenous Not-for-Profit, donations go directly into producing more resources, educational materials,” said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 23 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and the Child Welfare System on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.
