The Legacy of Hope Foundation Acknowledges and Thanks Purdy’s Chocolatier for Their Donation
(Ottawa, ON) 4 octobre 2021 – The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) would like to thank Purdy’s Chocolatier, a Vancouver-based chocolate company, for their generous donation of $10,000. This donation will help support the efforts of the LHF to educate all Canadians about the impact of Residential Schools and encourage meaningful Reconciliation.
“The last several months have been particularly difficult for Indigenous Peoples across Canada, and these types of donations signify a desire to contribute and support Reconciliation.” remarked Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF. “We thank Purdy’s Chocolatier for their incredible generosity and commitment to being an ally. The LHF will be able to use these funds to further develop our K-12 curriculum and add quality content to our exhibitions.”
The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and continuing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities, in order to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage all people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equality, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples, and to foster Reconciliation within Canada.
