(Ottawa, ON) \u2013 September 24, 2023 \u2013 <\/strong>Upcoming Event: Resilient Communities Video Trailer Premiere and How to be an Ally Exhibition Launch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join us on September 30, 2024<\/strong>, at Carleton University for a powerful event marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation<\/strong>. The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) will be launching its newest exhibition, focused on Indigenous histories, the legacy of Residential and Day School Systems, and the importance of Reconciliation and solidarity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.<\/p>\n

As part of this event, we are proud to premiere our new video series on food sovereignty in Ontario as part of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities <\/em>program, a new video series showcasing food sovereignty initiatives led by Indigenous Peoples across Ontario. This project was made possible with the generous support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Come learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations about allyship, Indigenous resilience, and how we can all contribute to Reconciliation in Canada.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 25 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate Canadians about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Child Welfare System on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to address discrimination against Indigenous Peoples, and to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage Canadians to address discrimination and injustice to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of all.<\/p>\n

The LHF has more than 30 educational exhibitions that educate Canadians about Indigenous history and that are free to borrow. LHF also has curriculums for K -12 and for adults, along with Activity Guides, Workshops and Training, and two Podcast series, all aimed at educating Canadians about Indigenous history and the shared history of Residential and Day Schools, the Child Welfare System, and other colonial acts of oppression. The LHF works to develop empathy and understanding to eliminate ongoing racism against Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation in Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
