(Ottawa, ON) <\/strong>June 1, 2024 \u2013 <\/strong>The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful to the support and generosity demonstrated by the staff and students of Algonquin College\u2019s Project Management Course. Thanks to this donation, the LHF will continue to produce education materials and exhibitions that speak to the rich histories and lives of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, as well as the abuses and impacts Indigenous Peoples have faced as a result of their experiences in Residential\/Day School, and within the Child Welfare System in order to address ongoing racism and discrimination.<\/p>\n

Professor David Solomon of Algonquin College has been implementing fundraising for the Legacy of Hope Foundation into his Project Management course over the past 2 years. This most recent semester, his class raised over $2,500! \u201cWe are so grateful for our partnership with Algonquin College, and Professor David Solomon because it\u2019s through collaborations like these that we are going to make positive changes in Canada,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, LHF Executive Director & In-House Legal Counsel.<\/p>\n

\u201cTruly happy to support the Legacy of Hope Foundation over the winter 2024 term! Our student fundraising teams were able to apply their project management knowledge, spread community awareness, and promote positive social change. At the end of term, it was clear that the students were proud of their project outcomes and had a lot of fun along the way,\u201d said Professor David Solomon.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 24 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate Canadians about the history and existing impacts on generations of Indigenous Peoples caused by their experiences as children living through Residential and\/ or Day School, or within the Child Welfare System. We do this to address ongoing injustice to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 30 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d\u2019enseignement destin\u00e9s aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et aux les adultes, ainsi que des guides d\u2019activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l\u2019histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l\u2019histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l\u2019empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d\u2019\u00e9liminer le racisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des peuples autochtones. Nous proposons \u00e9galement des ateliers de r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration culturelle, partageons les meilleures pratiques en mati\u00e8re de revitalisation linguistique et de souverainet\u00e9 alimentaire, etc. ainsi que d'autres outils pour soutenir l'espoir et la gu\u00e9rison.<\/p>\n
