The Legacy of Hope Foundation Acknowledges the Ontario Secondary School Teachers\u2019 Federation<\/h2><\/h1><\/div>

(Ottawa, ON) May 18, 2023 \u2013 <\/strong>The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful to the support and generosity of spirit demonstrated by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers\u2019 Federation (OSSTF\/FEESO) Thanks to their recent donation of $5000, the LHF will continue to produce education materials and exhibitions that speak to the rich histories and lives of Indigenous Peoples, as well as the impacts experienced by generations as a result of time in Residential or Day School, the Child Welfare System and due to other colonial acts of oppression.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ontario Secondary School Teachers\u2019 Federation (OSSTF\/FEESO) is honoured to continue to support the Legacy of Hope Foundation,\u201d said OSSTF\/FEESO President, Karen Littlewood. \u201cOSSTF\/FEESO is committed to Reconciliation and educating and raising awareness about the history of colonialism in this country, and the impact that Colonialism continues to have on Indigenous Peoples through collective and intergenerational trauma. We are also proud to support the development of materials that showcase Indigenous excellence and the remarkable achievements of Indigenous Peoples in the face of centuries of systemic oppression and discrimination.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LHF has been consistently working with Teachers to develop resources for children of all ages so that these future leaders will have learned about Indigenous history, its impacts on generations of Indigenous Peoples, and have positive solutions on how to improve the socio-economic factors to create a brighter tomorrow for future generations. I am so happy and grateful for the ongoing support of these teachers in helping to foster Reconciliation in Canada,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, LHF Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 23 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate Canadians about Indigenous history and existing impacts on generations of Indigenous Peoples from their time in Residential and Day School and the Child Welfare System. The LHF works to encourage people to address ongoing discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 30 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats, du syst\u00e8me de protection de l\u2019enfance, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des peuples autochtones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
