(Ottawa, ON) 13 janvier 2023<\/strong> \u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful for the support and generosity of spirit demonstrated by Canopy Growth Corporation (\u201cCanopy Growth”). Due to a donation by Canopy Growth, the LHF will continue to produce education materials and exhibitions that speak to the rich histories, as well as the impacts of abuses on 7 generations of Indigenous Peoples and communities as a result of attending Residential and Day Schools, and\/or being affected by the Sixties Scoop.<\/p>\n

Canopy Growth est une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 nord-am\u00e9ricaine sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans le cannabis et les produits de consommation courante, qui se consacre \u00e0 lib\u00e9rer le pouvoir du cannabis pour am\u00e9liorer les vies. Qu'il s'agisse d'am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre des personnes, de cr\u00e9er des opportunit\u00e9s \u00e9conomiques ou de travailler sur des initiatives de justice sociale, Canopy affirme que le cannabis est une substance qui a la capacit\u00e9 d'\u00eatre un agent de changement positif. Par exemple, Canopy s\u2019investit dans l\u2019usage du cannabis m\u00e9dical, susceptible de faciliter la r\u00e9mission des patients ayant v\u00e9cus des exp\u00e9riences traumatisantes, comme les anciens combattants.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so grateful for the kindness and generosity LHF has received from Canadian companies, like Canopy Growth. With this support, we are able to continue educating others about Canada\u2019s dark history and Indigenous issues. When we educate, we get that much closer to healing and Reconciliation across Canada,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 22 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and impacts on 7 generations of Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Me\u0301tis) children, their families and communities from attending Residential and\/or Day School. By developing understanding and addressing stereotypes, LHF gives Canadians the tools to address discrimination and the ability to build respectful relationships, which contributes to the equity and dignity of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.<\/p>\n

The LHF has more than 30 educational exhibitions that promote awareness of Indigenous history that are free to borrow and is working on making exhibitions available online. LHF also has curricula for K-12 and for adults, along with Activity Guides, Workshops and Training, and Podcasts all aimed at educating Canadians about Indigenous history and the shared history of Residential and Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop, etc. and to offer solutions on how to be an ally. The LHF works to develop empathy and understanding so as to eliminate racism against Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
