(Ottawa, ON) November 29, 2022 – <\/strong>We\u2019re so excited, because today is Giving Tuesday! Giving Tuesday is an incredible movement dedicated to giving and the community.<\/p>\n

We at the Legacy of Hope Foundation are dedicated to educating Canadians and creating awareness about the impacts caused to more than 7 generations of children as a result of the treatment they experienced while attending Residential and Day School, and\/or by being adopted out and placed away from the family, community and Nation. Since 2000, we have worked with Survivors, Indigenous communities, researchers, curators, and educators to develop K-12 curriculum, mobile exhibitions, research publication, communication materials and resources aimed at fostering Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

With the ongoing unearthing of the unmarked graves of Indigenous children outside of Residential Schools over the past two years, the LHF has used this time for sharing Indigenous history across Canada with those willing to learn, building allyship with partners and for giving thanks for those who have extended their hands to work with us. As we continue to see that the unmarked graves of Indigenous children is in the thousands, our People and communities will continue to need healing and we will need Canadians to foster Reconciliation now more than ever.<\/p>\n

We absolutely could not continue to do the work that we do without the generous support of all our donors, and we are incredibly grateful! This holiday season, we\u2019re hoping to spread the giving spirit with everyone and reach our goal for Giving Tuesday of $5000. These donations will aid in the development of educational curriculum for grades K-12 because we know that by educating youth we will positively impact future decision-makers and eliminate racism.
