(Ottawa, ON) <\/strong>May 30, 2022 \u2013 <\/strong>La Fondation autochtone de l'espoir (FAE) est reconnaissante du soutien et de la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 dont a fait preuve Brooke Manning. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce don, la FAE pourra continuer \u00e0 produire du mat\u00e9riel \u00e9ducatif et des expositions qui traitent de la riche histoire des peuples autochtones, ainsi que des impacts des abus sur sept g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de peuples et de communaut\u00e9s autochtones ayant fr\u00e9quent\u00e9 les pensionnats et les externats indiens ou ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 touch\u00e9s par la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60.<\/p>\n

Brooke Manning has been the owner and curator of the Likely General Shop – a shop and gallery in Toronto – since 2013, and which specializes in expressing the artistic work of women, queer, and marginalized peoples. She is a graduate from the Ontario College of Art & Design University, as well as a poet, musician, and vocal advocate of ethical consumerism.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a privilege and pleasure to donate to the Legacy of Hope Foundation through the community of Likely General. May your work continue to impact and educate generations. Thank you for all you do,\u201d said Brooke Manning, a poet and musician working in death care, and owner of Likely General.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is because the kindness and generosity of Canadians, such as Brooke Manning of Likely General, that LHF is able to continue to educate individuals of the issues impacting Indigenous Peoples and work towards Reconciliation. We are so grateful for Brookes support,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 22 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and impacts on 7 generations of Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) children, their families and communities from attending Residential and\/or Day School. By fostering empathy and understanding, LHF encourages people to address discrimination and injustice and contributes to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 25 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des peuples autochtones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
