(Ottawa, ON) May 30, 2022 \u2013 <\/strong>\u2013 La Fondation autochtone de l'espoir (FAE) est reconnaissante du soutien et de la g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 dont a fait preuve Red Hat. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ce don, la FAE continuera \u00e0 produire du mat\u00e9riel \u00e9ducatif et des expositions qui traitent de la riche histoire et de la vie des peuples autochtones du Canada, ainsi que des abus et des impacts auxquels les peuples autochtones et les communaut\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9s en raison du R\u00e9gime des pensionnats indiens.<\/p>\n

Red Hat is the world\u2019s leading provider of enterprise open source solutions with award-winning support, training, and consulting services. For over 25 years, Red Hat has been paving the way towards an open approach to enterprise information technology (IT) challenges. The LHF is thankful for the donation and support of Red Hat.<\/p>\n

\u201cRed Hat’s Native and Indigenous community supports the work that the Legacy of Hope Foundation is doing because educating people about and bringing awareness of Residential Schools brings healing and understanding. Not only does Legacy of Hope Foundation tell the story, but it tells the story from a Native American perspective, which is critical. Oftentimes Native Americans are underrepresented or misrepresented in society through stereotypes.\u00a0Telling our story dismantles those stereotypes and lends itself to understanding, acceptance and opportunities,\u201d said Sherry Boddie, Senior Deal Specialist, Native & Indigenous Community Leader of Outreach, Red Hat.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so happy and grateful to have companies like Red Hat support the LHF. Their support speaks to the kindness and generosity of individuals who are willing to work together towards Reconciliation and create a brighter future for all generations.\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 25 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des peuples autochtones.<\/p>\n
