(Ottawa, ON) May 16, 2022\u2013 <\/strong>La Fondation autochtone de l'espoir est un organisme caritatif national, dirig\u00e9 par des autochtones, qui \u0153uvre depuis plus de 22 ans \u00e0 la promotion de la gu\u00e9rison et de la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada. L'objectif de la FAE est d\u2019informer et de sensibiliser la population \u00e0 l\u2019histoire et aux impacts interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnels du R\u00e9gime des pensionnats et des externats autochtones, ainsi qu'aux cons\u00e9quences de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60 sur les survivants et survivantes autochtones (Premi\u00e8res Nations, Inuit et M\u00e9tis), leurs descendants et leurs communaut\u00e9s afin de promouvoir l'espoir et la gu\u00e9rison au Canada. La FAE vise \u00e0 encourager les gens \u00e0 s'attaquer \u00e0 la discrimination et aux injustices afin de contribuer \u00e0 l'\u00e9galit\u00e9, \u00e0 la dignit\u00e9 et au traitement respectueux des peuples autochtones et favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.<\/p>\n

Bradshaws, a retail store in Stratford, Ontario, has spanned 6 generations of ownership. Although the company has been around since 1895, it is important to the current owners, Jeremy and Carrie Wreford, that they educate themselves on Indigenous culture and history, and to be supportive of Not-For-Profit\u2019s like the Legacy of Hope Foundation, who endeavour to educate Canadians on harms inflicted on Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to show solidarity with the Survivors and their families of the Residential School System and to do our own work towards Reconciliation,\u201d says Carrie Wreford, owner of Bradshaws. \u201cWe acknowledge that out awareness and education is just at its beginning stage, but we will continue to learn and support the sharing of knowledge for our children and future generations to help contribute to the healing process.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is wonderful to have Canadian companies offering support to Indigenous organizations such as LHF because it speaks to the willingness and commitment to improve relationships, address injustice and support healing in Canada. This can only help to create a brighter tomorrow for future generations,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 22 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and impacts on 7 generations of Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) children, their families, and communities from attending Residential and\/or Day School. By fostering empathy and understanding, LHF encourages people to address discrimination and injustice and contributes to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 25 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des peuples autochtones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
