(Ottawa, ON) January 20, 2022<\/strong> \u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful for the donation made by Leoni Woolf and Jana Parker. Their fundraising efforts and donation will allow the LHF to continue to grow and to raise awareness and educate about the impacts on generations of Indigenous Peoples as a result of the Residential and Day School System as well as the Sixties Scoop. By increasing awareness about the effects felt by Survivors, their descendants, and communities, we can help address racism and support healing efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so grateful for the leadership shown by Leoni and Jana in organizing this fundraising campaign. As a charitable organization, donations such as these mean so much to us and they show us that people across the country see the value our work. Their efforts will contribute to our ability to develop more educational resources and exhibitions that share the power of knowledge. When we know better, we can do better, and we can identify positive actions and solutions together that improve how we relate with one another.\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

The LHF has more than 25 educational exhibitions that promote awareness of Indigenous history that are free to borrow and is working on making exhibitions available online. LHF also has curriculum for K-12 and for adults, along with Activity Guides, Workshops and Training, Podcasts, all aimed at educating Canadians about Indigenous history and the shared history of Residential and Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop, etc. The LHF works to develop empathy and understanding so as to eliminate racism against Indigenous Peoples.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
