(Ottawa, ON) January 20, 2022<\/strong> \u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful for the donation made by Jazmin Johnson. Through donations such as theirs, the LHF can continue our work and mandate of increasing awareness about the impacts of the Residential and Day School System and the Sixties Scoop.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe honour Jazmin\u2019s donation. Through education, we can create an understanding of the harms that Indigenous Peoples across Canada have endured and continue to face as a result of racism and abuses experienced at Residential and Day School and with other acts of colonial oppression. When we work together to acknowledge this shared history, it is my hope that we learn from the mistakes that segregation and discrimination have caused in the past, so that it never happens again,\u201d said Ms. Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La FAE dispose de plus de 25 expositions accessibles au public et travaille \u00e0 rendre ses autres expositions disponibles en ligne.
