(Ottawa, ON) 17 novembre 2021<\/strong> \u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) would like to acknowledge the generous donation from Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance and thank them for supporting Reconciliation. The LHF will use this donation to develop educational resources and materials, which will educate Canadians across the country.
\nLa Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance (SMI) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1908 pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 un besoin croissant de protection d'assurance facilement accessible et abordable. SMI a prosp\u00e9r\u00e9 pendant plus de 100 ans, offrant s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et service \u00e0 ses nombreux assur\u00e9s. SMI se consacre \u00e0 fournir un service de qualit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure en s'appuyant sur des bases historiques ancr\u00e9es dans l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9, l\u2019engagement et le service de premi\u00e8re qualit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis donation by SMI will allow us to provide more Canadians with educational resources so that they can continue to learn about the history and impacts of the Residential School System,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF. \u201cThere is so much work yet to be done, but this donation will allow us to continue to work towards Reconciliation \u2013 a process that will take a nation-wide effort,\u201d she continued. The LHF has been for over 21 years a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School System, Sixties Scoop, and other colonial acts of oppression on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis) Peoples. Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equality, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La FAE propose \u00e9galement des programmes scolaires de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e, des ateliers et des formations, des podcasts destin\u00e9s \u00e0 \u00e9duquer les Canadiens sur l'histoire autochtone et l'histoire commune des pensionnats et des externats indiens, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, les femmes et filles autochtones disparues et assassin\u00e9es, etc. La FAE vise \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer l'injustice, d'offrir des solutions sur la fa\u00e7on d'\u00eatre un alli\u00e9 et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.
