(Ottawa, ON) 4 novembre 2021<\/strong> \u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) wishes to thank local Ottawa Indigenous arts and craft store and online retailer Beaded Dreams for their unwavering support. Beaded Dreams donated more than $7000 from the sale of Orange Shirts to create greater awareness about the Residential School System and its impacts on Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Their donation will help in the development and printing of educational resources at the LHF.<\/p>\n

Beaded Dreams is a family company that Kim Vincent\u2019s parents opened in 1994. As a family that spent summers on the Pow Wow trail, Kim\u2019s parents would sell handmade goods. In 1994, they decided to set up shop at 426 Bank Street in Ottawa\u2019s Centretown neighbourhood. They\u2019ve gained a loyal following of customers, in the process of supporting Indigenous artists and local charities that serve Indigenous Peoples. Beaded Dreams is an ongoing supporter of the LHF and their dedication to community and quality has made them a successful business in the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

Beaded Dreams est ouvert 7 jours sur 7 et vend toute une gamme d'articles en magasin et en ligne, notamment des bijoux, des mocassins et des mitaines, des attrape-r\u00eaves, des savons et des bougies faits main, des rem\u00e8des de purification, des livres, des pierres et des cristaux, des fournitures pour l'artisanat et de l'art autochtone, tout en soutenant les artistes autochtones par le biais d'\u00e9v\u00e9nements de mise en lumi\u00e8re des artistes en magasin.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Me\u0301tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La Fondation a plus de 25 expositions \u00e9ducatives qui favorisent la sensibilisation \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et qui peuvent \u00eatre emprunt\u00e9es gratuitement, et travaille \u00e0 la mise en ligne de ses expositions. La FAE poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s, des ateliers, des formations et des podcasts, tous visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l\u2019histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l\u2019histoire commune des pensionnats indiens et des \u00e9coles de jour, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, etc. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
