(Ottawa, ON) November 4, 2021 \u2013<\/strong> La Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir (FAE) est reconnaissante pour le g\u00e9n\u00e9reux don de Jean Fulton-Hale au nom de l'\u00e9cole secondaire Merivale. Ces fonds permettront de promouvoir le travail continu de R\u00e9conciliation par l'\u00e9ducation \u00e0 la FAE.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

L'\u00e9cole secondaire Merivale est une \u00e9cole secondaire situ\u00e9e \u00e0 Ottawa, en Ontario. L'\u00e9cole est connue pour son programme de baccalaur\u00e9at international et offre \u00e9galement des programmes d'immersion en fran\u00e7ais ainsi que des programmes d'arts visuels, de musique et d'enseignement coop\u00e9ratif. Jean Fulton-Hale est actuellement \u00e0 la t\u00eate de la direction de l\u2019\u00e9tablissement. Le don de l'\u00e9cole secondaire Merivale est une contribution importante qui aide la Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir \u00e0 promouvoir la sensibilisation et l'\u00e9ducation sur les pensionnats et leur impact sur les peuples autochtones du Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so grateful to Merivale High School and principal Jean Fulton-Hale for their donation to our organization. The work we do, is to ensure that students of all ages, are increasing their education and awareness about Indigenous Peoples in Canada and all that has been endured through the Residential School System and its subsequent impacts. This process of increasing education is so that students can be better informed in their education and build empathy and understanding so as to address racism and foster Reconciliation across Canada. We thank Merivale High School for their support,\u201d says Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel at the LHF.<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 21 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Me\u0301tis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustice in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats indiens, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, des femmes et des filles autochtones disparues ou assassin\u00e9es et des \u00e9coles de jour. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
