(Ottawa, ON) 28 octobre 2021<\/strong>\u2013 The Legacy of Hope Foundation is grateful to the Canadian charity True North Aid for their generous donation of $15,000 to the LHF to support efforts in developing educational resources on Canada\u2019s true history for future generations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

True North Aid est un organisme de bienfaisance canadien qui se consacre au service et au soutien des communaut\u00e9s autochtones du Nord par le biais d'une aide humanitaire pratique. True North Aid s'appuie sur huit piliers fondamentaux \u00e0 travers lesquels les dons peuvent \u00eatre achemin\u00e9s. Ces pierres sont l'autod\u00e9termination, la R\u00e9conciliation, l'eau, la nourriture, la sant\u00e9, le logement, l'espoir et l'\u00e9ducation. True North Aid croit avant tout que l'autogestion et l'autod\u00e9termination sont des facteurs cl\u00e9s pour combler le foss\u00e9 de la pauvret\u00e9 dans les communaut\u00e9s autochtones, et c'est pourquoi ses dons et ses efforts sont directement li\u00e9s \u00e0 ses huit pierres d'assise. Le don et le soutien de True North Aid permettront \u00e0 la Fondation de poursuivre son action en faveur de la R\u00e9conciliation.<\/p>\n

The LHF has been in operation for more than 21 years as a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to address racism and discrimination. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School System, Sixties Scoop, and other colonial acts of oppression on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Me\u0301tis) Peoples.<\/p>\n

The LHF has 25 exhibitions that are available for loan for free. Our recent exhibition, Escaping Residential Schools: Running for their Lives, is now available through an animated virtual video, along with the Survivors\u2019 Oral Testimonies. The exhibition examines the experience of Survivors of the Residential School System and raises awareness on the impacts it has on our communities. La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats indiens, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, des femmes et des filles autochtones disparues ou assassin\u00e9es et des \u00e9coles de jour. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
