(Ottawa, ON) September 13, 2021 \u2013 <\/strong>La Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir (FAE) est reconnaissante du don g\u00e9n\u00e9reux de la Fondation Norwex pour un avenir meilleur, qui soutient notre travail d'\u00e9ducation des Canadiens et de R\u00e9conciliation. Leur g\u00e9n\u00e9reux don de 10 000 $ est un soutien opportun pour promouvoir une plus grande sensibilisation et \u00e9ducation sur les pensionnats indiens et leurs impacts.<\/p>\n

\u201cCanada is having a reckoning with its colonial history,\u201d said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel. \u201cThis moment is necessary to change the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the rest of Canada. With this donation, the LHF can provide more resources and information to support having difficult conversations, tough learning, and meaningful change. We are so grateful to Norwex for their support and for taking the time to come visit the LHF and take interest in our materials and the work that we do. Together we can address discrimination and build great relationships for a brighter tomorrow!\u201d<\/p>\n

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 20 years. The LHF\u2019s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

L\u2019une de ces expositions, Fuir les pensionnats indiens : fuir pour sauver nos vies, est d\u00e9sormais disponible sous forme de vid\u00e9o virtuelle anim\u00e9e et comprend \u00e9galement les t\u00e9moignages oraux des Survivants et Survivantes. L'exposition examine l'exp\u00e9rience des Survivants et Survivantes du R\u00e9gime des pensionnats indiens et sensibilise aux cons\u00e9quences de ce syst\u00e8me sur nos communaut\u00e9s. La FAE travaille \u00e0 la mise en ligne de ses autres expositions.La Fondation poss\u00e8de \u00e9galement des programmes d'enseignement de la maternelle \u00e0 la 12e ann\u00e9e et pour les adultes, ainsi que des guides d'activit\u00e9s visant \u00e0 sensibiliser les Canadiens \u00e0 l'histoire autochtone et \u00e0 l'histoire commune des pensionnats indiens, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60, des femmes et des filles autochtones disparues ou assassin\u00e9es et des \u00e9coles de jour. La FAE travaille \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper l'empathie et la compr\u00e9hension afin d'\u00e9liminer le racisme et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation au Canada.<\/p>\n
