Adam est un membre actif du conseil\nd'administration de la FAE depuis maintenant 2 ans et apporte avec plusieurs d\u00e9cennies\nd'exp\u00e9rience en tant que d\u00e9fenseur, activiste et leader des droits des autochtones.<\/p>\n<p>M.\u00a0North Peigan est issu de la Premi\u00e8re nation Piikani du Trait\u00e9 n\u00b0 7 et r\u00e9side\npr\u00e9sentement \u00e0 Edmonton. Au cours de sa carri\u00e8re, Adam a d\u00e9fendu les programmes et\nservices autochtones dans les domaines de la sant\u00e9, de l&#039;enfance et de la famille, de\nl&#039;emploi et de la formation, de l&#039;\u00e9ducation, du logement, de la justice et de la\nr\u00e9conciliation. Il poss\u00e8de de nombreuses ann\u00e9es d&#039;exp\u00e9rience en mati\u00e8re de gouvernance\nen tant que membre de plusieurs conseils et comit\u00e9s au sein de communaut\u00e9s\nautochtones en Colombie-Britannique et en Alberta.<\/p>\n<p>Adam a occup\u00e9 des postes de direction en tant qu&#039;administrateur principal de la Premi\u00e8re\nnation Tsawwassen en Colombie-Britannique, pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral (PDG) de la\nPremi\u00e8re nation Wesley \u00e0 Morley et PDG du Canadian Native Friendship Center \u00e0\nEdmonton. Adam est un danseur de pow-wow traditionnel et il a voyag\u00e9 \u00e0 travers le\nCanada et les \u00c9tats-Unis pour participer \u00e0 des c\u00e9l\u00e9brations traditionnelles et spirituelles.\nIl est aujourd&#039;hui pr\u00e9sident de la Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Alberta. Sous la\ndirection d&#039;Adam, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec les diff\u00e9rents paliers\nde gouvernement pour encourager les efforts de R\u00e9conciliation des Survivants et\nSurvivantes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Je suis honor\u00e9 d&#039;avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu pr\u00e9sident du conseil d&#039;administration de la Fondation\nautochtone de l&#039;espoir. Je suis fier d\u2019avoir la chance d\u2019aider \u00e0 diriger l&#039;organisme et \u00e0\npoursuivre le travail de mes pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseurs. Je me r\u00e9jouis de pouvoir continuer \u00e0 aider la\nfondation \u00e0 \u00e9duquer et \u00e0 partager avec les Canadiens l&#039;histoire et les cons\u00e9quences du\nR\u00e9gime des pensionnats indiens, de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60 et d&#039;autres actes d&#039;oppression\ncoloniaux, afin que nous puissions lutter contre le racisme et am\u00e9liorer les relations\nentre tous les peuples du Canada\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Adam North Peigan, nouveau pr\u00e9sident du\nconseil d&#039;administration de la FAE.<\/p>\n<p class=\" translation-block\">M.\u00a0North Peigan est un Survivant de la Rafle des ann\u00e9es 60 et son histoire fait partie de\nl'exposition de la FAE, Bi-Giwen : rentrer \u00e0 la maison \u2013 la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 sur la Rafle des\nann\u00e9es 60. Cette exposition sensibilise et informe les Canadiens sur la Rafle des ann\u00e9es\n60, au cours de laquelle des enfants autochtones ont \u00e9t\u00e9 arrach\u00e9s \u00e0 leur foyer et \u00e0 leur\nfamille pour \u00eatre plac\u00e9s dans des foyers d'accueil ou adopt\u00e9s par des familles non\nautochtones.\nIl sera prochainement l\u2019invit\u00e9 de la s\u00e9rie de podcasts de la FAE - Indigenous Roots and\nHoots. <a href=\"bit.ly\/rootsnhoots\"> Ici <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cette ann\u00e9e marque \u00e9galement le 20e anniversaire du travail de la FAE en faveur de la\ngu\u00e9rison et de la r\u00e9conciliation au Canada. La Fondation autochtone de l'espoir (FAE)\nest un organisme caritatif autochtone dont l\u2019objectif est d\u2019informer et de sensibiliser la\npopulation \u00e0 l'histoire et aux cons\u00e9quences actuelles du r\u00e9gime des pensionnats indiens, de la\nRafle des ann\u00e9es 60, des \u00e9coles de jour et d'autres actes d'oppression coloniale perp\u00e9tr\u00e9s\ncontre les Survivant(e)s autochtones (Premi\u00e8res Nations, Inuits et M\u00e9tis), leurs descendants et\nleurs communaut\u00e9s, afin de lutter contre le racisme et promouvoir la gu\u00e9rison.
