(Ottawa\/ON) 10\u00a0juillet 2020 - La Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir tient \u00e0 remercier la\nFondation Trillium de l\u2019Ontario d\u2019avoir g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement financ\u00e9 son projet Seed, qui\npermettra \u00e0 de jeunes b\u00e9n\u00e9voles autochtones, guid\u00e9s par des A\u00een\u00e9s, d\u2019assumer des r\u00f4les\nde leadership dans leur communaut\u00e9. Ces r\u00f4les de leadership viseront sp\u00e9cifiquement \u00e0\nd\u00e9velopper et \u00e0 piloter des syst\u00e8mes de culture de plantes alimentaires pour lutter contre\nl\u2019ins\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire tout en pratiquant et encourageant la souverainet\u00e9 alimentaire\nautochtone dans un environnement urbain. <\/p>\n

Le projet s\u2019appuiera sur des m\u00e9thodes de culture de plantes qui ne n\u00e9cessitent pas de\nterre. En utilisant la culture hydroponique, nous pouvons cultiver \u00e0 n\u2019importe quel\nmoment de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, ce qui permet de faire face aux p\u00e9nuries alimentaires pendant toute\nl\u2019ann\u00e9e. Les \u00e9tapes du d\u00e9veloppement, de la culture et de la gestion de ce projet\npermettront de d\u00e9velopper les comp\u00e9tences des participants autochtones en mati\u00e8re de\nleadership et de planification. Dans l\u2019ensemble, le projet portera sur de multiples\ndomaines qui b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 autochtone locale. <\/p>\n

Teresa Edwards, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale et conseill\u00e8re juridique interne, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9\u00a0: \u00ab\u2009Nous\nesp\u00e9rons que ce projet jettera les bases qui permettront \u00e0 d\u2019autres communaut\u00e9s\nautochtones d\u2019inciter leurs jeunes et leurs a\u00een\u00e9s \u00e0 se r\u00e9unir pour d\u00e9velopper une ferme\nalimentaire communautaire int\u00e9rieure durable afin de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 leurs besoins\nalimentaires locaux. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des entretiens, des observations et d\u2019autres formes de\nr\u00e9troaction, la Fondation produira des ressources issues de ce projet que d\u2019autres\ncommunaut\u00e9s autochtones pourront utiliser comme r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour \u00e9laborer et lancer leurs\npropres projets de souverainet\u00e9 alimentaire autochtone.\u2009\u00bb <\/p>\n

Cet important projet n\u2019aurait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 possible sans le financement de la Fondation\nTrillium de l\u2019Ontario. La Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir accepte avec gratitude et\nreconna\u00eet le soutien de la Fondation Trillium de l\u2019Ontario pour le lancement de ce projet \u00e0\nl\u2019occasion de son 20e\u00a0anniversaire. <\/p>\n

Le projet de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de souverainet\u00e9 alimentaires marque une autre \u00e9tape importante\ndans la poursuite du travail de la Fondation autochtone de l\u2019espoir. La Fondation soutient\nle processus de gu\u00e9rison des Survivants, des Survivantes et de leurs familles, et travaille\navec les Canadiens pour agir contre le racisme et la discrimination afin de promouvoir\nl\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 et de favoriser la R\u00e9conciliation.
