Adam is a product of the Residential School and a survivor of the Sixties Scoop. Adam\u2019s career has been spent in advocating for Indigenous people and creating awareness of the colonialism and oppressive actions as a result of government policies being imposed on the Indigenous people in Canada. Adam is the past President of the \u201cSixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Alberta\u201d (SSISA). Through Adam\u2019s leadership SSISA was able to work with the Alberta Government in the issuance of an apology from former Premier Rachel Notley on May 28<sup>e<\/sup>, 2018 to all survivors of the Sixties Scoop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adam has been an educator at the University of Alberta, University of Calgary and University of British Columbia. Adam has served public office as a Governor to the South Fraser Health Region in BC and also as an elected member of the Piikani First Nation Chief and Council. Adam has been instrumental in the development of an Indigenous Training module for the College of Alberta Registered Nurses Association, the Alberta Teachers Association and the City of Calgary Police. Adam has been employed in senior management positions with Tribal Governments and the not for profit sector in Alberta and BC. En plus d&#039;\u00eatre fi\u00e8re d&#039;\u00eatre m\u00e8re de trois enfants, Nina est intervenante en service communautaire depuis 25 ans. Elle est consultante culturelle pour les Forces arm\u00e9es canadiennes, le service de police de la ville de Montr\u00e9al, en plus des universit\u00e9s et des \u00e9coles. Elle anime \u00e9galement l&#039;exercice de couverture KAIROS, qui comprend le partage de ses exp\u00e9riences en tant que survivant de la scoop des ann\u00e9es 60. Actuellement, Nina d\u00e9tient un BA en relations humaines appliqu\u00e9es et travaille comme consultante culturelle. District (ASD-N)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matthew Sweezey is an education leader with over 15 years of experience advancing Indigenous education, reconciliation, and inclusive learning across New Brunswick. As Director of First Nations Education for Anglophone North School District, he oversees system-wide initiatives that strengthen relationships with Mi\u2019kmaq communities, integrate Indigenous knowledge and worldviews into curriculum, and create meaningful opportunities for students and educators to engage in reconciliation.<\/p>\n<p>Holding a&nbsp;BA, B. Ed., and&nbsp;Master of Education in Exceptional Learners from the University of New Brunswick, Matthew specializes in Indigenous and inclusive education, trauma-informed practices, and leadership development. He has spearheaded numerous provincial and district-wide initiatives, including the Elders in Schools program, multi-school Mawi\u2019omi gatherings, and the integration of the&nbsp;<em>Witness Blanket<\/em>&nbsp;installation\u2014engaging thousands of students and staff in Truth and Reconciliation learning.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew\u2019s leadership has secured significant funding for Indigenous wellness workshops, professional learning, and international education exchanges such as the World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education. A lifelong learner, he has completed the&nbsp;<em>Level 3 Cultural Competency Training<\/em>&nbsp;was facilitated by Elder Noel Milliea of Elsipogtog First Nation&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Reconciliation Through Indigenous Education<\/em>&nbsp;through UBC.<\/p>\n<p>Deeply committed to building bridges between schools and communities, Matthew continues to guide educators and students toward Nation in northern Alberta.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>He has worked at every level of senior management in the homelessness sector in Edmonton. Dave is most proud of is his contributions to addressing homelessness within the Indigenous population, his abilities in building relationships with Indigenous communities and governments and his involvement with the City of Edmonton\u2019s Mayor\u2019s Task Force on Community Safety (which saw the creation of REACH Edmonton).<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining LDM, Dave was the Executive Director for Ambrose Place, an innovative facility servicing Edmonton\u2019s Indigenous community, offering transitional and supportive housing and helping to reconnect people to their identity. <\/p>\n<p>Dave has also dedicated a good portion of his career to industry relations, supporting companies to build strong, healthy, and long-lasting relationships with Indigenous communities utilizing the \u201cNatural Law\u201d teachings (Kindness, Honesty, Sharing and Strength).
