Legacy of Hope Foundation Acknowledges and Honours Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future for their Donation and Support
(Ottawa, ON) September 13, 2021 – The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is grateful for the generous donation by Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future to support our work of educating Canadians and working towards Reconciliation. Their generous donation of $10,000 is a timely support in promoting greater awareness and education on Residential Schools and their impacts.
“Canada is having a reckoning with its colonial history,” said Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel. “This moment is necessary to change the relationship between Indigenous Peoples and the rest of Canada. With this donation, the LHF can provide more resources and information to support having difficult conversations, tough learning, and meaningful change. We are so grateful to Norwex for their support and for taking the time to come visit the LHF and take interest in our materials and the work that we do. Together we can address discrimination and build great relationships for a brighter tomorrow!”
The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 20 years. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equity, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.
The LHF has more than 25 educational exhibitions that promote awareness of Indigenous history that are free to borrow and is working on making exhibitions available online. The LHF also has curriculum for K-12 and for adults, along with Activity Guides, Workshops and Training aimed at educating Canadians about Indigenous history and the shared history of Residential and Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, youth and Reconciliation, allyship, etc. The LHF works to develop empathy and understanding so as to eliminate racism and injustice in Canada.
