The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) Acknowledges KandJu Candies

(Ottawa, ON) July 20, 2021– The Legacy of Hope Foundation is grateful for the generous fundraiser by KandJu Candies which will help to pay for the reprinting of our exhibitions that educate Canadians about Indigenous history and solutions on how to be an ally.

KandJu Candies will be donating $2.00 to the LHF from the sales of each orange 700 g bucket from July 23 until September 30, 2021. KandJu also represents the spirit of a team of young designers and buyers who are crazy about their job, eager to share their colorful, trendy, sugary or wacky discoveries! KandJu Candies wanted to offer this donation to the LHF so that they could contribute to more educational resources that support Reconciliation. To make place an order visit kandju.com

Teresa Edwards, Executive Director and In-House Legal Counsel, stated, “Although we are all still reeling and grieving from all of the announcements of the children’s remains that are constantly being discovered near Residential Schools; we are grateful to all the companies, individuals, communities that are reaching out to offer their support in some way and we could not be more thankful! It makes me feel like Canadians are waking up to what we have known our whole lives, and they are willing to lend a hand or want to take some positive action to be part of the solution and truly be an ally.”

The LHF is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for over 20 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential and Day School Systems and subsequent Sixties Scoop on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote hope and healing in Canada. The LHF works to encourage people to address discrimination and injustices in order to contribute to the equality, dignity, and respectful treatment of Indigenous Peoples and to foster Reconciliation.

The LHF has more than 20 educational exhibitions that promote awareness of Indigenous history that are free to borrow and is working on making exhibitions available on line. LHF also has curriculum for K-12 and for adults, along with Activity Guides, Workshops and Training aimed at educating Canadians about Indigenous history and the shared history of Residential and Day Schools, the Sixties Scoop, etc. The LHF works to develop empathy and understanding so as to eliminate racism and foster Reconciliation in Canada
